‘Sometimes walls are the main character in a project’
Pavan and Dhanya, our esteemed friends, sought to construct their home in Bangalore with a distinct preference for Mangalorean architectural elements, including sloped roofs, courtyards, and brickwork. Despite the challenging parameters of a 30’x 40’ urban site, we embraced the constraints and engineered a compact yet comfortable dwelling. Aptly named ‘Void Walls,’ the house harmonizes modern minimal finishes with traditional vernacular materials. Incorporating strategic cut-outs and semi-open spaces, our design optimizes spatial utilization while imparting character to each defined area, fulfilling the client’s requirements and infusing a unique design essence.
